Fall 2010 trends- DARK

Les gothiques des années 90 ont grandi, sont devenus les créateurs et les consommateurs d'aujourd'hui. Pétris d'imagerie burtonienne, de lectures sombres et romantiques, rêvant de cocon noir et doux, ils concilient leur univers avec celui qui les entoure. Le côté sombre de la mode s'exprime alors avec des coupes tranchantes, des dentelles et des voiles en cascades noires, de la simplicité, de l'extravagance. Les créateurs les plus représentatifs du mouvement sont Alexander Wang, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Threeasfour ou Meadham Kirchhoff, les précurseurs sont Ann Demeulemeester, Comme des garçons ou Yohji Yamamoto. 

Punkette sombre à la Tank girl, comme chez Jeremy Scott, fille sage à dentelles noires chez Elie Saab, noces funèbres chez Meadham Kirchhoff ou sorcière en cape chez Haider Ackermann, les créatures de la nuit cachées depuis trop longtemps dans les tréfonds de l'inconscient des créateurs émergent pour prendre, le temps d'un rêve, possession des podiums. Les tissus grimpent et s'enroulent autour des mannequins, les dévorent, les enlacent, les cachent, les dévoilent, comme la nuit joue à camoufler ou révéler les secrets les plus intimes. La mode, c'est aussi ça, la chose la plus superficielle et la plus intime que nous ayons.

The 90's gothics have grown up and have become today's designers and consumers. Burton in their eyes, dark and romantic readings in their heads, dreaming of a soft and obscure cocoon, they mix their world with the one surrounding them. The dark side of fashion is then expressed with sharp cuts, lace and gossamer in black waterfalls, simplicity and wildness.The most representative designers are Alexander Wang, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Threeasfour or Meadham Kirchhoff, the precursors are Ann Demeulemeester, Comme des garçons or Yohji Yamamoto.

Gloomy punk girl à-la-tank girl in Jeremy Scott show, discreet lace girl with Elie Saab, Corpse bride with Meadham Kirchhoff or witch in a mantle with Haider Ackermann, the creatures of the night who hided so long and deeply emerge from the designers' subconcious to take over the podiums for a dream's moment. The fabrics crawl and roll over models, devour, entwine them, hide them, unveil them, as the night plays to disguise or reveal the most intimate secrets. Because fashion is the most superficial thing, but also the most intimate matter in our lives.
